Servant Leadership – A Reminder of How to Bring People Together

What you do speaks so loudly that I can’t hear what you say.

Great teammates work in humble service to others and lift the team up by giving their all for the good of the team.  When we serve, we display that we are putting others first and build trust amongst the team.  Acting in service sets an example to others that we are invested in the greater good.  It is character in action and shows our integrity.  How we serve shows the world who we really are and our true colors as an individual.  Our actions speak loudly.  The service we do in this lifetime will be our legacy when we leave this world. 

Jesus’s final days show how servant leadership can change the world.  On the night before he was crucified, he washed his followers feet before the last supper.  This act showed that true leadership is serving followers in humility.  The washing of the feet signifies that those who truly lead do so by humbling themselves before their followers to show how much they care. Acts of humility and service create trust and loyalty. The following morning Jesus died on a cross for the same followers and for the world.  He chose to lift people up and change the world by sacrificing himself.  He walked the walk and practiced what he preached by living in service to others.  Jesus is the greatest leader in history (we measure time based on his life).  He quite literally changed the world and gave us the perfect model of how to be a servant leader.  

We have to serve to be a true success and live a fulfilling and happy life,  When we lift others up, it feels good.  When we serve, our individual success becomes a by-product of our service.  We reap great rewards when we put others first and work for them.   The greatest honor in the world is to serve your fellow man.
