Consistency – We Are What We Repeatedly Do

We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. -Aristotle

Consistency is the truest measure of performance, whether it be in the classroom, on the athletic field or in the workplace. Champions never take the easy way out. Champions do things the right way all the time to ensure true and lasting success.  By doing things the right way, we can ensure that we will never compromise our principles to get ahead. Consistent actions develop championship habits that lead to championship results.

The consistency of your actions reveals the standard of performance that you set for yourself.  Living up to a high standard of performance makes a person successful.  Winners take pride in having high standards and in the sacrifices it takes to achieve goals. This is the difference  that makes winners special and a cut above the masses the wallow in mediocrity.

The elements of concentration, determination, repetition, fundamentals, and staying true to principles are the standards that develop the consistency needed to be a champion. These traits allow us to have consistency in our actions and pave the way for continued success in life.  It isn’t easy, but it is worth it.  When these traits become habits, growth occurs that leads to accomplishment and fulfillment.  Consistency in action raises our standards and continually pushes us to our goals daily. There are no “days off.” Success comes to those that push themselves without ceasing. This creates the mental toughness needed to become great.  Mentally tough people positively attack the future and embrace the grind that will make them great. This is the edge that champions discover. This is where the elite find the difference.
